There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis.

Urgently Required: Volunteer Delivery Driver

Volunteer Role Delivery Driver – food delivery to clients homes
Volunteer Manager – Food bank Distribution Centre Manager
Where you will be based – Community

Why we want you

Due to the recent need for individuals to self-isolate, food bank delivery drivers play a crucial role in  delivering pre-packaged parcels to people’s homes. Volunteer drivers may also be asked to deliver food to key agencies in the local community. If you have a full driving licence, are under 70 and not self-isolating you could make a huge difference in helping your local food bank carry out its services.

What you will be doing

Driving throughout your local community
Carrying heavy boxes of food to and from your car
Delivering pre-packaged parcels to people’s homes
Delivering pre-packaged parcels from the distribution centre at Moortown and distributing to local agencies
Volunteering alongside a “driving buddy” to support you in your role

The skills you need

Full driving licence
Use of a personal vehicle with up to date MOT, tax and Insurance
Friendly and welcoming manner
Desire to help
Physically strong
Confident driver
