Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are thousands of volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis.
Right now, Leeds North & West Foodbank are in urgent need of the following volunteers:
NEW! Volunteer Speakers
Could you be one of a group of speakers who will help raise awareness and support for our Foodbank?
You would use your speaker skills to spread the word at city-wide venues including:
- Schools (both Primary and Secondary)
- Brownies/Cubs/Guides/Scouts ie different age range groups
- WI / Rotary / Mothers Union
NEW! Writing funding bids – can you help?
Are you someone with experience of writing funding bids and researching funding sources? Do you have a couple of hours a week you could spare? If yes – then Leeds North & West Foodbank would appreciate your help – email us for more information or download our application form
We are looking for drivers who can collect donations from around the city in our Foodbank van.
Some of our foodbank centres urgently need people who can help with packing bags and signposting clients to other agencies:
Lower Wortley on Tuesdays 11am – 1pm
Bramley on Wednesdays 1pm – 3pm
Moortown on Fridays 11am – 1pm
Pudsey on Fridays 5pm – 7pm
Horsforth on Saturdays 10am to 12 noon.
All volunteers attend a training course prior to starting their new roles and there’s ongoing support available where needed.
