Do you want a free ticket to Leeds Festival this August? Join the volunteer team of Leeds North and West foodbank to man our on-site AIR Hub!
The AIR Hubs are run by individual charities across the festival site and provide a 24 hour presence where people can come for support for things such as finding their way around the site, a friendly chat or just to say Hi and find out more about our charity. Other charities involved this year are St Georges Crypt , Andy’s Man Club and Age UK amongst others.
We are committed to providing volunteers across the full time the site is open from Wednesday 27th August at 11am to Monday 31st August at 12 md and we are looking for reliable people to join our team. Please do share this invite with friends or family members who might be interested. It would be perfect for a group of people looking to volunteer and then enjoy the festival together, as we have to have 4 people at our AIR hub at all times.
In return for volunteering, you’ll receive:
- A Leeds Festival Weekend wristband
- Access to a dedicated car parking and staff camping area for the duration of the time (Although it is not obligatory to camp, we will be creating our own section in the staff camping area where you may bring your own tent to pitch. If you prefer to sleep in your own bed, you can just turn up for your shifts each day and then watch any music you want to see)
- Staff showers and welfare facilities
- Shuttle bus access – if you don’t want to drive there, this bus runs to and from Leeds each day at regular intervals
- Plenty of time to enjoy the festival between shifts
What we’ll be doing:
- Staffing an AIR Hub in the festival site as described above ( the exact position of our HUB is not yet confirmed but it is likely to be on one of the festival campsites. For the overnight shifts, we will be joined by one of the festival security team too)
- Helping collect food donations left by festival-goers at the end of the festival
- Supporting the Monday salvage operation, recovering usable food and other items for donation rather than waste
What’s expected of you:
- Around 4 x 6-hour volunteer shifts across the event (24 hours total: Wednesday – Monday)
- Undertake the short online induction training provided by the Leeds Festival team (or watch the recording we can provide you with following this)
- Some daytime, evening and overnight shifts, as the AIR Hubs operate 24/7
- ** A refundable ticket deposit of £325 **(please get in touch if this would be a barrier for you volunteering and we can look at sorting something else out)
- A commitment to turn up for your shifts and support the team We’ll do our best to give everyone plenty of time off, we can keep groups of friends together where possible – as mentioned, we are required to have 4 people on duty throughout the whole period so if you want to volunteer with friends let us know and of course we will make sure you can enjoy the festival as well as volunteer.
Leeds Festival pays the charity for every volunteer hour worked, so your time helps raise valuable funds for our work while giving you the chance to attend the festival.
Interested? Please fill out the application form and we will be in touch.
